Ready for resurrection?

Are you ready for resurrection? It may sound like a shocking question — but it’s not a cause for alarm, nor is it about death. It’s about transformation — in thought — and just starting thought by thought. The power of the resurrection lies in the fact that Christ Jesus showed us we’re all able to realize (make real) what is true about ourselves as God’s children, as spiritual ideas.

But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.
— I Corinthians 15:51-52 (NLT)

Resurrection. Spiritualization of thought; a new and higher idea of immortality, or spiritual existence; material belief yielding to spiritual understanding.
— Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p.593:9

Spirit leads you—spiritually

As scripture says God is Love. God, Spirit, is divine Love — an omnipotent and all-powerful force of good. This goodness which is God itself, is only something that causes good, never evil. Love is also the source of all truth and is Truth itself. So Truth is ever leading us toward what is true, good, and holy. This leading is spiritual growth. Spiritual understanding — understanding God as Spirit and yourself as God’s spiritual idea — is a wonderful and healing process. It causes us to ever learn more about good and the nature of good, God, itself.

…the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit…
— I Corinthians 12:7-9 (NKJV)

Healing and transformation

God’s love is a power and it heals and transforms. One of the best parts of this fact is that it’s God’s power. Improving and progress is not a personal power we have to come up with or try to manifest. God is ever helping us, holding us, and leading us toward more good. The only question is — are we listening to and for God, divine Love?

Asking this question is vital! Answering it —prayerfully and humbly — helps us discern our thoughts. By this prayerful process we can tell if the thoughts we’re listening to lead upward or downward. We all want more light and goodness. And thinking clearer enables us to turn more quickly toward holier and purer ideals—a spiritually transforming process.

I have found that the more I question my own thinking and ask “where am I being led?” helps me see clearer if what I’m looking at really is good. Seeing clearly, and discerning God’s presence and goodness as ever-present and eternal, helps me better understand Love’s perfect, healing power. I find the more I learn about divine Love’s law of good, the more I can experience resurrection — awakening from dead thinking — daily.

We know that all will be changed “in the twinkling of an eye,” when the last trump shall sound; but this last call of wisdom cannot come till mortals have already yielded to each lesser call in the growth of Christian character.
— Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p.291:5-9
