With God all things are possible

So spake Christ Jesus—he knew better than anyone else. Ever. His example, seen so clearly in his life and teachings, were the result of  spiritual understanding coupled with divine power. All of Jesus’ works confirmed his teachings especially when he said “with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27).”

Is Christ Jesus relevant to me, today?

"Science and Health" by Mary Baker Eddy shows how all things are possible to God. Well, to begin with, there isn’t a single person I know who doesn’t desire better health, more peace, or a lasting sense of joy. I can speak for myself, at least: there isn’t a day that I don’t yearn to see these things expressed more in my life. However, Mary Baker Eddy’s central work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, explains the divine Principle behind Jesus’s works and how to make Jesus’ example a practical example by finding all good and truth through God, Spirit’s, daily supplies of spiritual ideas. Solving the problem of being can’t be done through will-power.

To understand Christian Science, one must understand Christ Jesus, and vice versa. The Science of Christianity is what Jesus demonstrated every time he healed crowds of people, when he walked on water, and turned water to wine. These appeared miraculous, but only because the language to explain Jesus’ metaphysics didn’t exist then. However, Christian Science explains and unfolds Jesus’ works and teaching so that everyone can practice works like he did. Not only that, but Christian Science gives God the entire glory showing, completely, that with God all things are possible.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
—John 14:12

Why Christmas matters

I love Christmas as it gives me an opportunity to celebrate, to me, the most important figure who ever walked on earth. Christ Jesus explained God is divine Love through all his actions—healing the sick and sinning, and by raising the dead. He showed, quite simply, that God loves us and that there is no power that opposes the one infinite God, Spirit—not matter, atoms, disease, biology, sin, or death. In a word: radical.

What’s more? This power that belonged to Jesus is available to all. By understanding his teachings, his example, and having the humility to walk in his footsteps, we can all experience wonderful proofs of Christ-healing. I feel Christmas is something I can celebrate all the time. But it certainly is a shining time of year to celebrate the fact that, yes, all things are possible to God.

The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God, — a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love. Regardless of what another may say or think on this subject, I speak from experience.
