God’s love for you

God's love for you is a direct, eternal, and unbreakable connectionThe Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
—Zephaniah 3:17

The Bible shows us that God’s love for you and me is a deep and joyful caring. This is divine Love which forever cares and protects you. Acknowledging this fact is not a mere “going through the motions” nor is it some kind of mantra or ritual. It’s a powerful prayer. This spiritual power comes from God, Spirit, who is also the infinite, divine Mind — the only source of all intelligence.

Acknowledging and understanding the fact that God is infinite Love and that God’s love for you is an ever-present and eternal power that protects, heals, and uplifts is the exact opposite of rituals. Rituals don’t make you think. They can be mindless actions. On the other hand, through understanding God as Love, we’re following in the way that Christ Jesus defined for us to walk, and we’re gleaning a sense of what Jesus demonstrated for us to know.

Jesus proved and defined the Christ. You could say the Christ is the divine outline and design of the true and real man (men and women) as good, holy, spiritual, and eternal. The Christ is what defined Jesus and animated and motivated him and his healing ministry. The Christ is something that also upholds each of us because it’s the underlying truth about each of us and who we really are, or the source of our eternal, unique identities as God’s sons and daughters.

To identify with the Christ, the good and true creation of God’s doing, not “the sinning race of Adam (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p.345)” is to identify with what God loves and what He/She knows about us—our eternal goodness. To do this is a deep and powerful prayer. It helps us learn from God, Spirit, better and helps us understand why God joys “over thee with singing.”

So far as the scientific statement as to man is understood, it can be proved and will bring to light the true reflection of God — the real man, or the new man (as St. Paul has it).
