Eternity does not change. And with the vibrancy, beauty, and glory of good, God, is how eternity was revealed—as the eternal fact of Truth, God. God, divine Mind, said with Her infinite intelligence and wisdom in a single command, “Let there be light!” And it was done. This is the fact of your permanent record. It’s how all of spiritual creation started and it includes you — beautiful, holy, and full of grace.
This infinite good and light is just that, infinite. It’s not partially made nor is it incomplete. God’s perfect creation was finished—it’s done—according to Genesis, chapter 1. Again, this includes you, me, all of us—we’re spiritually made—complete and whole. God’s creation can’t be added to, taken from, nor can it be made into something it’s not. So it goes with you.
Get out of the rough
Have you hit a rough patch? Once, twice, or even many times? Do things seem unclear, uncertain, or foggy—like a mist? Well the good news is you’re not lost—you’re not beyond repair, you are not damaged goods. We all have some part of our background that seems ugly perhaps even feels shameful. But God, divine Love, does not see us as long-lost mortal children who have lost their way. Spirit knows we are Her creation, spiritually made. Therefore we are “fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14).”
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Seeing the Truth
How can Christian Science make such an claim—that God doesn’t see us as fallen and lost? For starters the Bible tells us why. This isn’t secret information. It’s not something no one else knows. More than this, Christ Jesus proved what God knew by healing people. Just as God loves His children, Jesus also saw God’s creation through the lens of compassion and empathy. The book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy sheds light on Jesus’ healing ministry: “Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals (p.476:32-2).”
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
Wear your permanent record
The Bible tells us we can put on incorruption and immortality. So put it on! Wear this reality. Make it your very own, as your true and only identity. Reject the shallow belief that you could be stained, unworthy, or shamed. God did not make you this way, so whatever happened in the past—that’s where it remains—it can’t stick to you. You have God-given power, and divine support through the Christ, to reject anything that’s unworthy of good, God. You are permanently blessed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
